Dear friends,

This week we have the last of the big outer planet ingresses (sign changes) when Uranus enters Gemini. Gemini, the twins, has two faces, one dark and one light, and the drive of Gemini is to travel back and forth between the experiences of life in order to make sense of it all.

Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, the messenger and communicator. In Roman mythology, from which our western astrology derives, Mercury was a trickster and arbiter of commerce. In ancient Greece Hermes, the pantheonic ancestor to Mercury, was a god of wisdom and transmutation.

Outer planets, which I consider to be transformational guides, act as “higher octave” forces. Neptune, with its focus on divine compassion and spiritual evolution, acts as the higher octave of Venus and human love and connection. Pluto, with its forceful application of fate and Divine Will, acts as the higher octave of Mars and the will of the individual. Uranus is more like the Greek Hermes than like the Roman Mercury, using words as magical symbols and downloading wisdom from the realms of spirit and higher consciousness.

With Uranus entering Gemini, the powers of Mercury and Hermes are fused into a rapid acceleration of knowledge and awareness. Uranus awakens lost memories and activates an inner knowing. It infuses us with a desire to break free of the bondage of the past and live in a completely new way.

This is the potential that we have this week! Venus leads Uranus into Gemini and everything speeds up. Strap on your rocket shoes, and be ready for some new ideas.

Venus enters Gemini July 4. The passage of Venus through a sign colors the way we experience our interconnectedness with others, our sense of self, our relationship to our outer world. Venus is associated with finance as well as beauty, and all of these things relate back to a consideration of what we find valuable. In Gemini we become more curious about different things. Perhaps we will begin talking with people that we don’t understand. Communication becomes more important, and the exchange of ideas may become easier.

This week has some great Venus influences: Once Venus enters Gemini it will harmonize with Pluto (trine) for deepening our relationships and making them more meaningful. Venus will also harmonize with Saturn (sextile) for greater focus and discipline making this a good week for writers or anyone who must communicate for any reason.

Neptune turns retrograde July 4. Neptune inspires us to experience a Self that lies beyond the personality: To experience divinely inspired creativity, to merge with the Soul in meditation, to experience the Godhead in all of its myriad forms. It also sometimes tempts us with fantasy and illusion, fooling us with subterfuge and undermining our ideals.

When Neptune is retrograde, as it is for half the year, this influence becomes more profoundly personal. You may feel like you are wading through a thick fog in your life, unable to make a clear decision. You may find yourself succumbing to strange illnesses for which there are no names. You may be more susceptible to lies and deception and less able to discriminate clearly.

Neptune has been stationary in early Aries for the past month, and it will remain stuck at around 2º for the next couple of months. Chiron is also making a station right now, and these two planets are potent for personal growth and transformation. I like to call Neptune the “soul teacher” and Chiron the “soul healer” and these are the themes of the summer.

Uranus enters Gemini July 7. The themes of Uranus in Gemini are already at work (like this article which says that AI will replace the very systems which built it) but when Uranus enters Gemini we will likely see these themes explode. Refer back to the introduction, and to the more complete article I posted on the blog.
