Planetary guidance this week: Reflection and reassessment ๐
Astrological update for the week of July 28-August 4, 2025

Dear friends,
With Mercury retrograde, Iโd love your thoughts! Please fill out this short survey. (Paid subscribers, please use the link in the paid section instead.)
A few words about Uranus in Gemini. You may be sensing a disturbance in the force right now (h/t Star Wars) with Uranus, the disruptor, having just moved into Gemini last week. We often call Uranus the planet of โradical changeโ because it has a tendency to inspire a shakeup in areas where we may feel stuck or trapped. But Uranus is also electrical in nature, and can affect our mindbody system in unusual ways. If you have planets at 0ยบ-5ยบ of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) you may be feeling some energetic imbalance that will need more grounding to help stabilize your energies.
Chiron turns retrograde this week (July 30). If you have planets in Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn you will have been under its activation portal all through July and August as Chiron has and will be stationary throughout July and August at 27ยบ Aries.
If you are inside of this activation portal this may be a challenging time as old emotional triggers reawaken. Physical symptoms may also be a problem as stuck energy can manifest in the body as well as through feelings. If we remember that Chironโs role is to help us release these stuck places, we can move through them more easily and find the innate wisdom that greets us on the other side. ๐
Venus enters Cancer July 30. When the planet of love enters the sign of sensitivity, all of our relationships can blossom into something beautifully magical as feelings deepen and become more nurturing. This sensitivity can cause us to feel more reactive, especially if we are being affected by Chiron right now, but it can also help us to release old emotional patterns if we approach these energies with insight and clarity.
The Saturn/Neptune conjunction. This week Saturn and Neptune are at their closest alignment (only 16โ apart) until the official conjunction takes place in 2026. Where Saturn urges us to create boundaries, Neptune inspires us to break down walls and search for deeper meanings and it can be difficult to reconcile these different energies, especially in Aries where we can be more impulsive and sometimes act without thinking.
Venus entering Cancer will conflict with Saturn and Neptune this week, and this could cause issues in our personal lives where Venus is such a strong player. Our interactions with others, our own self-esteem, our financial endeavors - all could be affected. Venus is a fast moving planet so by next week this particular challenge will have dissolved, but this week we will want to try to think carefully before we take any kind of extreme action.
It is a blessing that Uranus and Pluto, in a supportive trine, both harmonize with Saturn and Neptune to facilitate the highest and best outcome. ๐
Mercury is still retrograde. In fact, it is at perigee on Monday - its closest point to Earth. This close proximity to Earth calls our attention to issues of communication and information during the retrograde phase. Donโt put your life on hold while Mercury is retrograde, but try to avoid impulse purchases like I did the other day without checking all of the details to make sure they are correct! Mercury is a trickster, but we are also dealing with Uranus in Mercuryโs sign (Gemini) shaking things up.
The world is changing rapidly, and from the astrological point of view we see this as the three outer (slow moving) planets moving into new signs and new elements. Everything in the human experience is being recalibrated right now and that can feel unsettling, but the threads of these shifts are weaving together a new reality as each of the new signs are supportive allies of the others.
