Planetary news this week: The return of fire π₯
Astrological update for the week of March 11-18, 2024

Remnants of the Pisces New SuperMoon. The influence of a New Moon is said to linger for a while. Some say three days, some say seven which seems kind of arbitrary. For me, the lunation begins when the Moon enters the sign where it will interact with the Sun, and the portal closes when the Moon enters the next sign.
That is especially true when the Moon leaves passive Pisces, the end of the zodiac, for Aries, the Mars-ruled initiation of the twelve degrees of human experience. The Moon entered Aries Sunday evening and there is a palpable shift in the mood.
As we make the transition from water (four planets in Pisces) and air (three planets in Aquarius) to fire, all of our instincts come alive. Under the influence of fire we can more easily access our motivation and instincts. We may find ourselves more easily able to establish good boundaries in our relationships. And most of all, for those of us in the northern hemisphere, we begin to blossom in the fire of spring.
Mercury is now in Aries. Mercury entered Aries on Saturday after a brief dance with Neptune, and with the Moon having moved into Aries too that fiery intentionality of Aries will be able to operate without having to burn through Piscean fog. This may feel somewhat abrupt, and being ready for that transition will make it easier as we may feel a bit like a rubber band being shot into space.
Mercury represents the mind and thoughts, our ability to learn and communicate. In Aries, the most fiery of the fire signs, we may be less polite in making our opinions known. Mercury will remain in Aries for a long time because it turns retrograde in Aries on April 1st, giving us ample opportunity to learn the lessons of direct thought and purposeful action.
Venus enters Pisces. When the planet of love and treasure travels through the sign of mysticism and imagination, there is no better time for romance and creative magic. Venus will be in Pisces until she moves into Aries on April 5th, and while itβs fun and blissful to give ourselves to the rapture of dreams, the Aries influences are getting stronger and demanding that we wake up. This can feel a bit disorienting, especially while the Piscean influence of the New SuperMoon lingers and we still have four planets in Pisces.
Venus represents values and wealth as well as love and beauty - all of the things that serve as our resources on Planet Earth, and Venus in Pisces can be a challenging time for financial matters since we are not always as smart as we should be under this influence. On the other hand, we may experience good fortune when Venus is in the sign of Jupiter and the two benefics form a beautiful dance. If we try to keep our eyes open and our feet on the ground, we may have an exhilarating and magical week. Especially becauseβ¦
The Sun conjoins Neptune. Intuition and creative spirituality are at a peak under this influence which will be in effect for the last few days of the week, culminating on Sunday. Neptune teaches us the importance of transcending the material world and ascending into a divine connection; this journey can occur through religion, through spiritual adventure, or through simple acts of spending time in nature, with children or with animals.
The blossoming of the interior world is the province of the Sun and Neptune, and will help to prepare us for the return of fire at the Vernal Equinox next week when the Sun enters Aries. π
